Alison K. Carter is a Partner at Sullivan & Carter, where she counsels companies and individuals across the country and internationally on all matters related to Intellectual Property. She has over a decade of litigation experience and offers holistic services with regard to Intellectual Property management and protection.
Ms. Carter's practice focuses on the entire lifecycle of trademarks and copyrights, including development, strategy, registration, renewal, expansion, infringement, litigation, anti-counterfeiting enforcement, and beyond.
Given that each client is unique, her approach is one of collaboration and creativity—meeting her clients where they are today and putting them in the best possible position for success tomorrow.
During her career, Ms. Carter has successfully argued hundreds of cases in both state and federal court for prominent corporations and individual creatives alike. She is skilled in all aspects of litigation including pre-litigation investigations and dispute resolution, settlement negotiations, management of the discovery process, motion practice, trial preparation, post-judgment remedies, as well as mediation.
Ms. Carter received her J.D. from the University of St. Thomas School of Law in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As a law student, she was mentored by Trademark Counsel for Wells Fargo and Patent Counsel for General Mills. Additionally, she was an active member of the American Bar Association’s Entertainment and Sports Law Symposium. Prior to law school, she earned a B.S. in Criminology from the University of Texas Arlington.
